Pawtucket Garage Destroyed By Afternoon Fire
At 17:51 Pawtucket Fire Alarm dispatched a 3&1 assignment to 78 Campbell Street for numerous calls reporting a structure fire. Ladder 2 reported heavy smoke showing from Industrial Highway and the code red companies were dispatched out. Engine 6 arrived first due and reported a fully involved 1.5 story detached garage which was set behind a occupied 1.5 story woodframe dwelling and set up lines for defensive operations. Jakes made great progress having the overlapping fire knocked down and contained to the building of origin and two vehicles within a half hour. Crews also checked for any extension to the neighboring garage on side two, the occupied dwellings which sit in front of the fire building and the garage on side four which all proved negative. No injuries were reported during the fire which is under investigation, The special signal fire association canteen responded to provide fireground rehab for the members. The recall was sounded at 19:12.
