Overnight Barn Fire In Harmony

Early Tuesday morning Glocester firefighters responded to the end of James Street for a reported structure fire, Harmony Chief 2 arrived first due and reported a well involved 20x40 two story barn type structure with vehicles and brush also involved. Smithfield, Burrilliville, & Scituate crews worked in a defensive operation with Glocester companies due to water problems, structural involvement and imminent danger of collapse Putnam Covered the West Glocester station for the duration of the fire. A Tanker shuttle operation was put in place from the scene to the fill site at Route 116 & Route 44 to provide a sufficient water supply for fire ground operations. The fire was contained to the barn which was a total loss and two vehicles no injuries were reported the state fire Marshall's office is on scene to investigate.
